Weddings Rings
Wedding bands are the most worn piece of jewellery anyone owns and choosing the perfect ring to reflect your style and personality is very important.
There are many different metals to choose from, various widths and thicknesses, Diamonds, coloured stones in bands or traditional plain wedding bands.
Allowing enough time before your big day to try on actual rings is important as many men will own their very first ring as their wedding band. We recommend to start this process at least a couple of months before your big day.

Plain or Diamond / stone set wedding band
If you have a complex engagement ring or you don’t want your engagement and wedding bands to compete, choosing a plain traditional band is a great idea. There is not a lot that can go wrong with a plain band, unless you choose a very thin band, which may bend out of shape with certain activities. We recommend at least 1.70mm wide bands to make sure you get many years of wear, but if you want a narrower band, thickness will add to the strength.
Setting style
In the recent years minimal claw is the in look everyone is after, but with that can come wear and tear issues. Micro set Diamonds will not handle long term everyday wear and as the claws wear down, you may start loosing your stones. If you choose this style, extra care will be needed and more frequent checks with your jeweller.
Shared claws are another popular style, where one claw is securing two Diamonds. This style is beautiful but also needs some extra care.
We discuss all pros and cons during our design sessions and will work with you to get the best result, so you love and enjoy wearing your wedding band.
Metal choice
We recommend 18ct yellow, rose and white gold for all bridal jewellery and if your choice is platinum, we work with platinum 950 ( 95% platinum.)
Curved / fitted or straight
Is your engagement ring low set and you are unable to find the prefect wedding band? We can custom make a the perfect fitted wedding band.

Metal choice
Most men choose their wedding band by the metal type, followed by the width and design (pattern, or polished look).
Many of our clients are practical and choose what will suit their everyday activities and what requires the least maintenance.
Because most gents wedding bands are substantial, the size and width will dictate the weight and that will reflect on the price, unless you choose Zirconium, Sterling Silver, Tungsten etc.
We recommend 9ct yellow, rose and white gold for all gents wedding bands, unless you prefer 18ct gold, but as a ballpark these wedding bands will be roughly double in price.
Our customer’s most popular metal choice is Platinum 600, due to the price point and natural grey appearance and low maintenance.
Width
In the recent years, we have noticed the change in the width of wedding bands. The traditional wide bands we may see our dads or grandads wearing (7.00 or 8.00mm wide) are being over run by narrower wedding bands (4.00 to 6.00mm wide).
This is a very personal choice and unless you try on different bands, it is difficult to gauge what would look and feel nice on your finger.
Pattern
Nothing will be permanent, as we wear our jewellery we tend to mark the metal and wear off some details over time. Brushed finish is not permanent, but we can put the pattern back on the ring once it wears off. Polished (shiny) look will end up scuffed and marked, but we maintain all of our rings and polishing the band from time to time will take care of this.
Any external engraving we offer is done by a hand engraver and although it will wear down eventually, it is much deeper that laser engraving and the lifespan is also much longer with the option of a touch up (re-engraving) providing you choose a thick enough band.
We recommend 1.80mm thick bands, but 1.60mm thickness is also fine.
All these options are discussed during our design session, finger size in men can also be a little tricky, especially if you are not used to wearing any rings. Our fingers expand with heat (summer) and exercise, and contract with cold (winter or swimming), or if you are in aircon. Finding the perfect balance is the key to make sure you don’t loose your wedding band.
