Our Story

We have recently relocated to Paddington to join other boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops on Given Terrace.

Being a jeweller at Paddington has been on our bucket list for some time, because we love this part of Brisbane. Operating from such beautiful location allows us to service your rings, while you have a coffee or stroll through the beautiful Terraces.

Our background was in the larger scale of manufacturing for the jewellery trade and retail. After operating from south side of Brisbane for more than 20 years, it was time for a change. We have downsized to a small boutique shop with an in-house workshop, still offering the same jewellery services.

Our customers love the personal approach and the relaxed atmosphere we provide. From the moment you enter, to the finished product, our aim is to make your journey (big or small) special and memorable.

Jewellery is mostly given for a special occasion and we are excited to be a part of every engagement, wedding or just a simple surprise gift.

Our Director

David

David Phillips has been the managing director of Bentley De Lisle for the past 25 years.

He is involved in every aspect of the business, from consultations and quotes, to bench work and finishing. There is part of him in every piece we create. Dave is mostly hands on with finishing of each piece. He loves seeing it come to life when he is polishing.

His easy-going personality creates great atmosphere and work environment for his team. Jewellery is a passion and his devotion to every job and his customers, have created great relationships and respect in the jewellery trade.

Our Master Jeweller

Dimitar

Coming from a family of jewellers, Dimitar started in the jewellery trade as a teenager.

As a young adult he lived and worked overseas for more than 8 years, learning under award winning international master jewellers in the UK and Europe.

His extensive knowledge of all forms of jewellery making, from traditional hand making to modern techniques, makes him an integral part of this business.

Today, after being in the jewellery trade for more than 25 years, he still enjoys a challenge in design and craftsmanship.

Our Jeweller

Nicholas

Nicholas has been working with us a few years ago but due to family commitments moved from Brisbane. He has now returned and joined our team once again and we are delighted to have him back.

As a young apprentice Nick was working with very talented jewellers in the retail shop environment.  He has over 10 years of experience in the jewellery trade and his friendly attitude towards our customers and professionalism makes him vital part of Bentley De Lisle.

Our process

Measure

Each creation goes through many steps. Dave measures all the stones before each design begins.
Designing jewellery is all about precision and points of a millimeter. David’s love of antique style jewellery reflects in many of our pieces with a twist of Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

Drawing

Once he draws a sketch and all stones are measured and diamonds are selected, our drawers will draw the design in 3d. Bentley De Lisle has been using this technique for the past 10 years and our clients love it, because they get to see the design in realistic drawing before we commence making their jewellery.

3D Printing

The next steps are 3d printing, casting and hand finishing by our jewelers and setters. Final polish follows and rhodium plating for white gold and the piece is ready for collection.

Handmaking

We offer traditional hand making if our clients request it. Some pieces we create need to be handmade due to the job.
